IKONICS AMS offers a production service, supplying mask material for sandblasting holes (perfs) into composites for Acoustic and other industrial applications where a specific hole pattern, size, depth or design is required. Using our patented/ proprietary material, production time can be reduced up to 85%.
Photo-machining is faster and more cost-effective than alternative, traditional methods in many cases, especially those in advanced materials with challenging surface characteristics. IKONICS AMS combines the precision of a patent-pending photo resist material developed by IKONICS, and on-site powder blasting to achieve a finished product with higher quality compared to other drilled or machined parts.
With resolution to 200μm (.008”), accuracy is easy to achieve. While industrial photoresists are familiar and well understood, particularly in the electronics industries, none, other than IKONICS’s propriety photoresist, have the ability to survive a highly aggressive dry-abrasive sand blasting environment used to abrade composites.
